Sunshine Coast Hinterland Scenic with Food and Wine Tastings - Full-Day Small Group Tour

This Sunshine Coast Hinterland Day Tour combines the stunning scenery of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland with some of the region’s finest local produce. After being collected from your coastal accommodation, you will head inland towards the lush subtropical hinterland. The first stop of the day is the dairy region of Maleny where you will sample a selection of local and international cheeses at Maleny Food Co or Maleny Cheese Factory. During your time in Maleny, you’ll have the opportunity to explore Maleny Chocolate Co., where you can personally choose a delightful Chocolate Sample pack to bring home with you. After cheese tasting and free time in Malney, you will take in the stunning views of the National Heritage-listed Glass House Mountains. Embark on a journey from Maleny to the unique and iconic destination known as The Barrel @ Clouds Vineyard Maleny, situated on the picturesque grounds of Clouds Vineyard. Here, you can savour a delightful flight of wines or, depending on availability, experience a wine-tasting session at Flamehill Vineyard after a satisfying lunch. Following this, indulge in a scrumptious two-course lakeside lunch at Secrets on the Lake. The adventure continues as you make your way to the charming hinterland village of Montville, enjoy free time to explore the village, peruse its charming shops and boutiques, and discover local handcrafted treasures while immersing yourself in the invigorating mountain air. After Montville make the scenic return trip down the range via another stunning scenic lookout back to your accommodation.

Itinerary

Glass House Mountains Lookout- Your first stop is Mary Cairncross in Maleny, on the aptly named Mountain View Rd. It looks east off the Blackall Range towards the coast where you will enjoy the gorgeous National heritage-listed Glass House Mountains.

Maleny Chocolate Co – The Art Of Chocolate - Hand-select a delightful Chocolate gift pack to take home, you’ll also have the opportunity to savour timeless favourites. Maleny Chocolate Co’s expert team will offer insights into what makes their chocolates truly exceptional.

Dairy town of Maleny - Maleny, a picture-postcard dairy country town is located 436 m above sea level on the southern edge of the Blackall Range, Maleny attracts painters, craftspeople, and potters. During this time, you will enjoy cheese tasting and explore the town at your leisure.

Maleny Food Co. or Maleny Cheese Factory - Enjoy a true cheese experience while you sample the finest Australian and international cheeses made by artisan cheesemakers. You will be provided with a cheese tasting board which will include a selection of cheese plus condiments including quince jam, baby pickles, figs, muscatels on the vine, dried fruit and crusty sourdough.

Clouds Montville (Tue) or Flamehill Vineyard - Clouds Vineyard cellar door offers a flight of award-winning wines. Here you’ll smell and taste Queensland wines produced from the different grapes grown in Queensland. * Depending on the day, wine tasting may take place at Flamehill Vineyard after lunch.

Gerrard’s Lookout - One of the two scenic lookouts we stop at will be Gerrard’s Lookout, high on the hill. This lookout offers coastline views to Coolum, Maroochydore, Caloundra and Bribie Island. Lunch at Secrets on the Lake - Your gourmet lunch will be at Secrets on the Lake which is set in the rainforest on the side of Lake Baroon, a popular foodie destination near Montville enjoying panoramic views of Lake Baroon

Montville Village - When we arrive at the hinterland village of Montville, you can spend your free time checking out the delightful shops and boutiques and enjoying this picture-postcard village and its fresh mountain air.

Mapleton Falls Lookout - The Mapleton Falls lookout for some is a highlight of their day, a hidden treasure in the Hinterland region, this scenic lookout offers amazing views over the Obi Obi Valley and the top of a lush rainforest canopy.

It’s late afternoon and you’ve bought yourself a couple of bottles of local wine to take home now it’s time to head back down to sea level where you will arrive back at your accommodation in time for a rest before dinner.
